Built a new strategic research and design team to deliver two large redesign projects, a new pricing strategy and set a vision for the next two years of improvements. Implemented new design tracking, prioritization and status reporting and regular partner collaboration and design reviews. On target to increase inventory by 5% and transactions by 5%.

Senior Research Manager
Managed a large global discovery project to identify opportunities for
innovation on mobile, with in-depth contextual research across 3 countries,
bringing development teams into the field. Created a five day discovery
design sprint with design, engineering, customer service and business teams. Ran an iterative design and research program throughout development.

Set up a global UX research program and lab for a revamp of the iOS and
Android mobile app. Worked closely with product design and development teams to improve the app store rating from 1.4 to 4.4 out of 5 stars.
Built a new spatial computing team and lab for research and design on
augmented and virtual reality commerce explorations. Worked with
strategic partners to develop new concepts for commerce on mobile and
handset platforms, releasing a mobile AR feature to critical acclaim.

Led a new research program informing eBay Seller experiences and new
business tools for all sellers with a focus on increasing accessibility for new
sellers during the Pandemic. Collaborated with the diversity, equity and
inclusion team to improve our research process for sellers. Mapped out the
full end-to-end onboarding process for sellers with opportunities for design
and policy improvements.

Shaped the user experience of Moblin/MeeGo products across PC, mobile, tablet, TV and automotive technology. Managed a remote team of designers across US and Europe to deliver the design of new mobile Operating System in just 9 months. experience research and design. Managed project teams of 2-6 consultants to carry out UX research and design work for many clients in Europe and the US from small start-ups to multinationals including Sky, ITV, Channel 4, Five, Sony BMG and Nokia. We created an ad-hoc research and design team for Peter Gabriel's AI media discovery engine start-up The Filter in order to help the team grow from Alpha to launch. Our work covered web, mobile, IPTV, business systems and print products.

Worked on a high-profile mobile innovation program spanning the US and UK offices, winning budget and resource for product research trials, shaping the research, managing the creation of design prototypes and delivering trial results to stakeholders. Introduced participatory design methods as a way to bring international stakeholders closer to end users.
Managed a small design team working on numerous mobile applications and led the research and design of a large international cross-device, multi-user telephony product with an engineering partner company in Poland.

Scheme. Began as technical project manager then moved into running
analysis and design for a large internal business system for development and operations teams, carrying out contextual research across offices in the UK.
Finished in a product marketing role carrying out user research on connected living with the Orange Smart Home and then leading the market positioning research for a 3G video calling launch, producing “Wizard-of-Oz” video stimulus and facilitating focus groups.
